Built for 2″ x 42″ machines, armed with Shredder ceramic
These carry the same #Shredder ceramic grain as our 2x72 line — the grain fractures continuously to expose fresh cutting edges, so belts cut fast and run cool on steel and stainless.

So just building these two Damascus knives I cut the billets, completed my thermal normalization & using 36 grit combat, abrasive belts, took the blades down fairly quickly to a nice shape. As soon as I finish the final carbon removal, I’ll add some pictures or videos of the finishing belts.
Long lasting belts that make my annealed farrier rasps transform fast, from 36 grit to 600 grit they are incredible. I need to get some of the 1000 or 1200 grip versions for my Grizzly to really take it to a fine finish.
I am a hobbyist bladesmith…searching out the best grinding belts that I can afford for my 2x42 belt sander. I learned about Combat Abrasives from You Tube knifemakers and decided to order a few to try. Most of my blades are made from thick truck leaf springs. The 36 grit Shredder has performed very well, and I will be ordering more from CA.
I have been using these belts for a while now. This was my third order so yes I like them. I use them to sharpen lawnmower blades. Most of the blades I do are thick and beat up pretty bad. I also recommend the grease stick (not actually grease) to help keep the metal from burning.
These belts massively speed up both the rough and smooth grinding process and leave clear crisp lines. Go light! It’s going to eat more than you think!
We have sand and rocks around here. This beats up mower blades really bad. I have to remove a lot of metal to get them back in condition. These belts combined with the grease stick makes the job easier and helps avoid burning the blade. This is my second order.
Great belts. I recently started ordering from here. I am new to knife making. But these belts hog material even on my little 2x42. Last quite awhile. Great quality and packaging is great with fast shipping. Customer service is great and responds quickly to questions. Will be buying more and more belts from here.
I just used my first Combat Abrasive ceramic belt to finish grind five AEB-L blades just back from heat treatment. They were treated to 59 - 60, so were pretty hard. One 120 grit belt finished the bevels on all five very easily. The belt was quick, smooth, and cut without excessive heat. I am very happy with the belts I bought.
Thanks
Love these grinder belts. They are great and hold up well for a long period of grinding. Definitely will be reordering soon. If you are not using these you need to give them a try.
Used my new belts from combat abrasives to make a handy kitchen utility knife. They performed even better than advertised. Looking forward to using them for my upcoming projects. Will be purchasing again in the future.
Very pleased. I ordered the 36 grit for mower blades. They make doing a complete regrind a breeze. After doing a half dozen blades, they actually work better than when they were new. Note: these are thick. My non adjustable guard set so close to the belt that I had to. Move the belt back and forth by hand to knock a couple of thousand off. These belts cut faster and run cooler than others I've tried. I will definitely order again.
