High-speed buffing stresses the wheel center. Flanges sandwich the wheel on both sides so it cannot warp or walk on the arbor.

The hardware between you and a warped wheel
Safety flanges mount on each side of an airway buffing wheel, spreading clamping force across the center plate. That prevents warping at speed and keeps the wheel seated exactly where it should be. If you run airway wheels, run flanges — no exceptions.

Will they fit my buffer?
They fit 5/8″ arbors — the standard for our airway wheels.
One set per wheel?
A set covers one wheel — order per wheel you keep mounted.
Do they affect balance?
They improve it — clamping force is spread evenly around the center.
