The deeper dive
The ceramic grains carry a specialized grinding aid that reduces heat — protecting your heat treat during post-HT grinding.
Ultra-thin butt joints let every belt run in either direction with no thump or chatter marks.
All belts are standard 2″ x 72″ (the scalloped belt is intentionally 1″ wide — the correct contour setup for a 2″ x 72″ machine).
Eye protection and a properly rated respirator. We recommend a full-face respirator like this one on Amazon.

Will these fit my 2x72 grinder?
Yes — standard 2″ x 72″ belts compatible with all major brands (Brodbeck, Ameribrade, KMG and similar).
How does Shredder Ceramic compare to zirconia?
The ceramic grain is self-sharpening and harder than zirconia — it stays sharper longer and generates significantly less heat on hardened steel.
Why is the scalloped belt 1″ wide?
By design — that’s the correct size and shape for slack-belt contour work on a 2″ x 72″ grinder.

Start by saying I have next to no experience with belt grinders… the 36 grit amazed me at how fast it removes metal.

I love using your wide array of sanding belts. You have made my hobby of knife making easier and far more enjoyable. Your introductory sample kit introduced me to the benefit of the various sanding belts without making a lot of trial and error purchases. I love the J belts. They are awesome!
I was unsure about paying so much for belts but these were well worth it. The blade did not heat up as fast cut much better than my cheaper belts. If you are worried about making the leap this kit is well worth it to make up your mind.

Great kit. It had every i needed to finish the job
The Ceramic belts do the job and keep on doing the job. I used 1 36 grit belt to clean up the canister billet. drew out enough for those 2 little edcs and forged them to shape. Then used the SAME 36 grit to rough shape those out. The belt still looks brand new, I don't know how long it will last but I'm guessing it will be a while.
This kit was an excellent starting point for me after newly acquiring a 2x72 machine. It gives you a taste of the different abrasives, and doesn't give you too much of what you seldom use. Great kit for someone just getting started on a 2x72. I also highly recommend the full surface conditioning belt set for beginners.
New at this, I just built my own 2x72. I like the belts so far, I may have destroyed 2 already due to my lack of experience🥺. The others are holding up great! Fast shipping great info on website for us new guys and gals
