2″ x 72″ Belt

This is the most common belt size in the knife making industry & rightfully so due to the surface area. This belt size is best for profiling, bevel grinding, detail work and sharpening. Popular machines that this belt size is used on: The wilton Square Wheel Grinder, The burr King 972 knifemaker grinder, The hardcore belt grinder, the Bader BIII, The bob Dozier Grinder, the coote grinder, TW90, Riverside machine, Pheer327’s & the KMG-1 Grinder

The cork belts are well coated and do what they are supposed to do with one exception. the connection adhesive that holds the belt together is very weak. if you put similar tension as you would with any other 2×72 belt the cork belt will break at the connector. I have found about 1/10th the standard tension or just enough to get traction on the drive wheel is all these belts can handle. once they are running they work well for honing an edge and cleaning burrs. just wish they were a bit more durable.

  2. J-Ray

It would be nice if you could put together a starter set of different grits for the knife maker. Like from 40 – 400 grit . Maybe 3-5 belts of each grit. For the beginner, who has no idea of what to get started with. Price range $125 to $225????

is your ceramic shredder belt a stiff heavy belt in 36 grit?

    • sami (verified owner)

Yes, the backing is a Y Weight Polyester.

  5. Zach Sartell

Why the minimums? I want a selection of new belts, but don’t want to end up spending $150.

    • Josh Webb

its not worth handling orders that include 1 or 2 belts per order.

    • Gregory

Feel free to call in Zach. Sometimes on the phone they’re more likely to adjust the minimums
